This week I chat with painter Joel Sheesley, Emeritus Professor of Art at Wheaton College. Joel taught for 42 years and subjects included painting, drawing, and print making. He loved sharing his love of these art forms with his students. After retiring from teaching in 2016, He began collaborating with The Conservation Foundation to raise awareness of the environmental importance of the Fox River and the Fox Valley. He would end up painting Fox River landscapes from West Dundee in the north, to Ottawa, IL for three years. Prior to this project, he never imagined himself as a landscape painter, but is now convinced he loves landscape. His oeuvre of truly remarkable.
We look forward to hosting a show of his stunning work at the Beverly Shores Depot this coming summer, 2024.
